RONNIES PET TRANSPORT
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Thank you for choosing Ronnies Pet Transport. Our priority is to provide a safe, reliable and caring transport service for your pet.
By booking our services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. BOOKING
1.1 All transport bookings must be confirmed by Ronnies Pet Transport before they are considered secured.
1.2 When making a booking, the customer must provide accurate information, including:

Customer name and contact details

Collection address
-
Destination address
-
Date and requested collection time
-
Number and type of animals being transported
-
Approximate size/weight of the animal(s)

Any known medical, behavioural or mobility requirements
-
Any special transport requirements
1.3 Ronnies Pet Transport reserves the right to refuse a booking where we believe the journey cannot be completed safely or reasonably.
2. PRICES AND PAYMENT
2.1 A price will be agreed with the customer before the transport takes place.
2.2 A deposit may be required to secure a booking. Unless otherwise agreed, the standard deposit is 50% of the total booking price.
2.3 For short, same-day, emergency or out-of-hours bookings, full payment may be required before the journey begins.
2.4 The remaining balance must be paid before or upon completion of the transport service, unless alternative payment terms have been agreed in writing.
2.5 Payment can be made using the payment methods accepted by Ronnies Pet Transport.
2.6 Ronnies Pet Transport reserves the right not to commence or complete a journey where required payment has not been received.
2.7 Prices are based on the information provided at the time of booking. Additional charges may apply where circumstances change, including additional mileage, waiting time, additional stops, delays, or special requirements.
3. MILEAGE AND JOURNEY TIME
3.1 Transport prices may take into account the total mileage and journey time required to complete the booking.
3.2 Where applicable, the quoted price may include travel required to return the vehicle towards its operating base following completion of the booking.
3.3 Customers will be informed of the agreed price before the journey wherever reasonably possible.
3.4 Additional mileage caused by changes requested by the customer after the journey has started may result in an additional charge.
4. WAITING TIME
4.1 A reasonable amount of time will be allowed for collection and handover.
4.2 Where Ronnies Pet Transport is required to wait beyond the agreed reasonable waiting period due to circumstances within the customer's control, a waiting charge may apply.
4.3 The applicable waiting charge will be communicated to the customer where reasonably practicable.
4.4 Examples may include:

Customer not being ready at the agreed collection time

Delayed access to premises
-
Waiting for paperwork or required documentation

Delayed handover of the animal
4.5 Delays caused by circumstances outside the customer's control will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
5. CANCELLATIONS
5.1 Customers should provide as much notice as possible if they need to cancel or change a booking.
5.2 Cancellation charges may apply where a booking is cancelled at short notice, particularly where Ronnies Pet Transport has already incurred costs or turned down other work to accommodate the booking.
5.3 Unless otherwise agreed:

More than 48 hours' notice: deposit may be refunded or transferred to another booking.

24–48 hours' notice: deposit may be retained to cover administration and lost booking time.

Less than 24 hours' notice: the deposit may be retained and additional reasonable costs may be charged where applicable.

Failure to attend / no-show: the full agreed booking fee may become payable where appropriate.
5.4 Any refund will be considered in accordance with applicable consumer law.
5.5 Ronnies Pet Transport reserves the right to waive or reduce cancellation charges where there are exceptional circumstances.
6. CHANGES TO BOOKINGS
6.1 Customers should notify Ronnies Pet Transport as soon as possible of any change to:

Collection or destination address

Collection time
-
Number of animals
-
Animal size or transport requirements
-
Special handling requirements
6.2 Changes may result in an amended price.
6.3 Ronnies Pet Transport cannot guarantee that requested changes can be accommodated once a journey has been scheduled.
7. ANIMAL SAFETY
7.1 The safety and welfare of the animal is our highest priority.
7.2 Animals will be transported using appropriate restraints, crates, carriers or other suitable equipment where required.
7.3 Customers must inform Ronnies Pet Transport before the journey of any known:

Medical conditions
-
Injuries
-
Medication requirements
-
Aggressive or unpredictable behaviour
-
Anxiety or travel-related issues
-
Mobility problems
-
Previous escape attempts
-
Other circumstances that could affect safe transportation
7.4 Customers must not knowingly withhold information that could affect the safe transport or handling of their animal.
7.5 Ronnies Pet Transport reserves the right to stop, postpone or refuse transportation if we reasonably believe that continuing the journey would present an unacceptable risk to the animal, the driver or other road users.
7.6 Animals must not be transported in a manner that compromises their welfare or safety.
8. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
The customer is responsible for:
8.1 Ensuring that the animal is fit to travel unless transportation is specifically being arranged for veterinary or emergency purposes.
8.2 Providing accurate information about the animal.
8.3 Providing any medication, veterinary instructions, food or other essential items required during the journey.
8.4 Ensuring that the animal is appropriately identified, including suitable identification details where applicable.
8.5 Providing correct collection and destination information.
8.6 Ensuring that someone authorised to hand over and receive the animal is available at the agreed locations.
8.7 Informing Ronnies Pet Transport of any behavioural or safety concerns before transportation.
8.8 Providing any required veterinary, ownership, travel or other documentation.
9. VETERINARY AND MEDICAL TRANSPORT
9.1 Ronnies Pet Transport is a transport service and does not provide veterinary treatment.
9.2 Where an animal requires veterinary attention, the customer remains responsible for arranging appropriate veterinary care unless otherwise agreed.
9.3 In an emergency, Ronnies Pet Transport may take reasonable steps to protect the animal's welfare, including contacting the customer's nominated emergency contact or veterinary practice.
9.4 The customer authorises Ronnies Pet Transport to seek appropriate assistance where reasonably necessary to protect an animal from serious harm during transport, where the customer cannot reasonably be contacted.
10. ACCIDENTS, INCIDENTS AND BREAKDOWNS
10.1 Ronnies Pet Transport will take reasonable care to transport animals safely.
10.2 In the event of an accident, vehicle breakdown, road closure, severe weather or other unforeseen circumstance, our priority will be the safety and welfare of the animal, customer and driver.
10.3 Where reasonably possible, the customer will be informed of significant delays or incidents.
10.4 If a replacement vehicle, alternative transport or emergency assistance is required, Ronnies Pet Transport will take reasonable steps to arrange an appropriate solution.
10.5 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under UK law.
11. DAMAGE, LOSS OR ESCAPE
11.1 Ronnies Pet Transport will take reasonable precautions to prevent animals escaping during transportation.
11.2 Customers must disclose any known behaviour that could increase the risk of escape, including attempts to escape from vehicles, crates, doors or harnesses.
11.3 Customers are responsible for ensuring that any information provided to Ronnies Pet Transport is accurate and complete.
11.4 Ronnies Pet Transport will not accept liability for loss or escape arising from information deliberately or negligently withheld by the customer, subject always to applicable law.
12. CLEANING AND DAMAGE
12.1 Customers may be responsible for reasonable additional cleaning costs resulting from excessive mess, bodily fluids or damage caused by an animal beyond normal transport-related cleaning.
12.2 Where an animal causes damage to the vehicle or transport equipment through behaviour that could reasonably have been disclosed beforehand, the customer may be responsible for reasonable repair or replacement costs, subject to applicable law.
13. ANIMAL WELFARE
13.1 Ronnies Pet Transport will treat all animals with care, patience and respect.
13.2 Animals will not knowingly be left unattended in unsafe conditions.
13.3 Appropriate consideration will be given to temperature, ventilation, journey duration, rest requirements and the individual needs of the animal.
13.4 Ronnies Pet Transport reserves the right to alter a journey plan where necessary to protect animal welfare.
14. EMERGENCY AND OUT-OF-HOURS BOOKINGS
14.1 Emergency and out-of-hours bookings may be subject to additional charges.
14.2 The applicable additional charge will be agreed with the customer before the journey where circumstances reasonably allow.
14.3 During genuine emergencies, Ronnies Pet Transport will prioritise animal welfare and safety over normal journey arrangements.
15. CUSTOMER INFORMATION AND PRIVACY
15.1 Customer information will be handled responsibly and used for purposes connected with providing the transport service, communicating with customers and maintaining appropriate business records.
15.2 Personal information will not knowingly be sold to third parties.
15.3 Customers should avoid providing unnecessary sensitive personal information when making a booking.
16. RIGHT TO REFUSE OR TERMINATE A JOURNEY
Ronnies Pet Transport reserves the right to refuse, postpone or terminate a transport service where:

The animal presents an immediate safety risk.

The animal's condition makes transport unsafe.

The customer has provided materially inaccurate information.

Required payment has not been made.
-
The vehicle or equipment is unsuitable for the animal's needs.

Continuing the journey would breach applicable law or safety requirements.

Circumstances arise that make continuing the journey unsafe.
Where possible, the customer will be informed and reasonable alternatives will be considered.
17. LIABILITY
17.1 Ronnies Pet Transport will exercise reasonable care and skill when providing its services.
17.2 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
17.3 Subject to applicable law, Ronnies Pet Transport will not be responsible for losses arising from circumstances outside its reasonable control.
17.4 Customers remain responsible for providing accurate information and following reasonable instructions relating to the safe transportation of their animal.
18. COMPLAINTS
18.1 We want every customer and animal to receive a professional and caring service.
18.2 If you are unhappy with any aspect of the service, please contact Ronnies Pet Transport as soon as reasonably possible so that we can investigate the matter.
18.3 We will aim to respond to complaints fairly and within a reasonable period.
19. ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS
19.1 By confirming a booking with Ronnies Pet Transport, the customer confirms that they have had the opportunity to read and understand these Terms & Conditions.
19.2 The customer agrees to provide accurate information and comply with reasonable instructions given for the safety and welfare of the animal.
19.3 These Terms & Conditions should be read alongside the individual booking confirmation and any specific arrangements agreed with the customer.
